Getting ahead for the week

When Sunday night rolls around I start thinking about what all has to get done in the coming week.   So I start making my list both on Paper and in my head.  I know now that keeping things in my head are not safe.I am a wife and a mother of a 2 year old.  I’m lucky I remember anything.    So to make things easier on my brain I write down the every day things that I want to get done so that 1.  I can check them off the list and 2.  I don’t forget.  Who am I kidding it’s mainly so that I don’t forget to do something.

Also, new this week to hold myself accountable and to make sure we are on the same page I emailed my husband my goals for the week so that he can help keep me on track and know what I want to get done.  Guess what nobody is a mind reader and keeping what you want to do to yourself isn’t doing anybody any good.   It’s my own fault if I’m trying to do something and I get pulled away.

Being organized and communication go hand in hand.    Shocking I know.

The other thing that I did this week to save me some time and brain power this week is picked out all of my clothes for the week and got them hung up so then that way I don’t have to think about it.  I can just move the hanger to the bathroom at night and be done with it.  And while I’m at it I figured out my lunches for the week.  I didn’t make them for fear that bread would go stale but I figured out what I am going to eat and got that all planned out so then again no thinking and giving myself just a couple of minutes each night to do other things off my list.

Let’s face it as busy people our to-do lists keep getting bigger and bigger but it’s the small wins that keep us moving and keep us motivated.

Have a very happy Monday everybody!!!!

I love that you mentioned communication! I often find if we have goals or to-dos, and don’t mention them to our significant others, we do get pulled away from accomplishing them. It seems like such a silly thing to say I want to get clean out the fridge this week, or buy printer ink, anything bit or small – but it’s important to do it!

Thanks, it will be so interesting to see how things work out and how much more we get accomplished as a family just by saying, “Hey this is what I want to get done this week” Update to come 🙂
