Getting back on Track with our Memories

I am over a year behind on my Family Photobooks.  I have not made it a priority and it’s starting eat away at me.  My toddler is starting to really get into pictures and I don’t want him just looking at pictures on my phone.  So it’s time to really get the books up to date.  I am through 2013 and only have a couple of pages of 2014.  I did however stay up to date enough that I could still get the 3rd edition of the “Jack Book” out to the family for Christmas, but that was the extent of what I got done.

So this week I am tasking myself with doing a page a day.  Hoping that will give me the momentum I need to get me back on track and caught up on our books so that we can all enjoy them.

I also want to make a point every month or couple of months for me and my husband to sit down and enjoy the books too.  They are for all of us not just me or just Jack.

For those that have photo albums, scrapbooks, etc. What do you do to enjoy them?  We all put some much time and effort into them that it seems like a waste to just leave them on the shelf.

Follow me on Faceboook at WarmTidings by the Crafty Organizer to see my progress and other new items coming to the Etsy site and organizing ideas!!!!!

Now it’s time to get those photos organized and ready to go.  Next post…Organizing your photos!!!!

Be back soon!!!

Warm Tidings turns ONE!!!!!

I cannot believe a year has gone by since WarmTidings opened for Business.  It has been an incredible year both for the shop and for me.

The shop has evolved over the last year.  From hand made cards in the beginning to now, loads of invitations for Birthdays, Weddings, and more.

The best part about the shop are the people who ask me to create something for them that they either saw somewhere else or it’s something in their head.   The best part of it is that it’s another product that I can add to my site.   It’s so cool to hear about other people’s ideas and it’s even more awesome when I get the rare glimpse into how my project actually made it to the party!

Thank you for your support of WarmTidings, check back often to see more and more new things.    I have so many ideas I just have to get them created so that I can share with everybody.

Upcoming ideas:  Mickey & Minnie themed birthday, Royal blue wedding invitations.

What would YOU like to see on WarmTidings.

Check out WarmTidings and see if there is anything you like.  Thank you for reading the blog and checking out the shop here is a 15% of code for your next order  1STANNIVERSARY.  Code expires April 30, 2015

Please feel free to share the code with their friends!!

Be sure to also go and Like my Facebook Page WarmTidings by the Crafty Organizer to be up to date on all of the, ideas and new products coming.  Also please feel free to chime in with ideas and things you would like to see.

Christmas/Holiday cards now on Etsy

I also apologize for not doing the 31 days of Christmas this year but with all of my moving (whole other blog post) it wasn’t in the cards this year.  Maybe I will do something in those months that I am basically home bound once it starts snowing.  And…that’s any day now.    If anybody is following the news you saw that Buffalo NY got FEET of snow, not inches.  Luckily for me, although I live in New York,  I am nowhere near there.  The snow can stay away just a bit longer

So for the real reason I am writing a blog post.

I am a little late in getting the Holiday Cards out there but here they are.  You can click on the Picture below to go directly to my Etsy Site.

New for this year if you don’t want to print the cards and address envelopes.  I am happy to do it for you.  I just need your address list either in Word or Excel and I will get them sent out by Mid-December.

I hope you like the designs.  Feedback is always appreciated!!!!

Watch for more blog posts about my 1,000 Journey.  Yup, that’s still going on, it’s a never ending battle I’m afraid.  Also now that we are hopefully going to be settled, at least for now, I will get some crafting done.  I’m excited to share what I have up my sleeve.

Thanks for stopping by!!

From Creative Memories to Panstoria…an Upgrade

I took the plunge today and converted my StoryBook Creator and my Memory Manager to Panstoria’s Artisan and Historian.  The main reason is that because the Creative Memories versions of the software is no longer supported and with the Etsy business, I didn’t want to lose anything.

Also, my digital content needs a bit of re-fresh so I wanted to make sure I had software that would support the new content.

So I took the leap and downloaded the new software.

PrintPanstoria

Purchase software from Panstoria.com

Historian —–>  http://www.panstoria.com/historian/overview/

Artisan ——->  http://www.panstoria.com/artisan/overview/

After your purchase you will get an email with your Download link and the product key.

Historian,

Here are the steps to get your Memory Manager into Historian (pssst…it’s super easy)

Download the software & go through the install wizard and activate your software.

You can create a new “Vault” but it’s not necessary.

Just navigate on your computer, or external hard drive where you old vault was saved and open it up in Historian and you are ready to go.

Artisan

With Historian you had a to think a little bit but not with Artisan.

Download the software and go through the wizard.  Go through the process to activate your software.

When the software installs it will say.  Hey we see you already have Storybook Creator Do you want to Migrate your content?

CLICK MIGRATE!!

Almost instantaneously it’s done and you can go on your way creating beautiful things.  It’s really that simple!

Please comment if you have any questions.  As always you can find me on Facebook  The Crafty Organizer

Can’t wait to show you my first project using the new software.  Off to Create some more cards, invites, and more.

(pssst check out the Etsy site —————————————->)

Managing an Etsy Site…What it takes to make it successful

I am still trying to get my Etsy site up and running.  I have had orders but would love to have orders for some of my higher ticket items.   I don’t want to give them away but at the same time, I don’t want to break the bank for my customers.  I wouldn’t spend a ton on this stuff so I can’t ask my customers to.  At least, not at this point because I am just starting out.

As you have seen in previous posts I am now creating custom wedding invitations.   I have some new examples below.  Be sure to check it out and if you know ANYBODY getting married or getting engaged please forward them to me.  I would be happy to create all of their invitations, place cards, etc.

Do you want to build a snowman? – Party Activity

I am loving the Etsy business and the creativity of my customers; today was no exception.   Instead of creating an invitation to the party this customer wanted an activity for their Frozen party.  They wanted all of the text removed and at the top have it say…

Do you want to build a snowman?

Then under the text would be where each guest drew their very own Olaf the snowman.

How cool of an idea is that??

Here is what the project looked like.  The file I created was a 5×7 but I could totally see it being an 8.5×11 to give ample drawing room.

Do you want to build a snowman - activity

This just adds to the things that I can do with custom orders at my shop WarmTidings.   Check out what I have today!!

I don’t charge extra for customization.  All digital cards are just $5

Coming up tomorrow…

Water Bottle Labels!!!

See you tomorrow.  Happy Memorial Day everybody.

Warm Tidings – now creating Wedding invitations

1891603_651605174895386_98081938_oI got asked by a friend of my sister’s to create her wedding invite.  Because I am always up for the challenge I was happy to help her out.    She showed me some ideas that she had and what she liked so then I ran with it. After about a week of work (that’s with working and fulfilling other orders) I got her a first pass and she was so happy with the results.

If you or somebody you know are looking for custom wedding invites, save the dates, or anything else please feel free to send me a note on etsy at www.etsy.com/shop/warmtidings by clicking on Contact the shop owner on the left.

I try really had to keep the invite cost to be right around $1.50 per invite.  That includes all envelopes and enclosures and my “creative time”  I will have them printed and I will send them to you if you don’t live near me.   If you know what you want and have all of your information we could have printed invites within 2 weeks.

Please check out my shop for some other things I have created.  I am working on some mock ups of invites and I will be posting those soon!

Hope you will check out the store and let me know if you are interested in any of my services  🙂

Mother’s Day Card: Tin Ceiling

Happy Tuesday everybody.  I finally got my Mother’s Day cards done over the weekend and wanted to share.  (Sorry mom if you see this and aren’t surprised by your card!!).  I wanted to come up with something with a vintage feel and of course I wanted to use my new toy.    Hope you like the idea!!!

First off here is the list of tools that I used to make the card:

I made 2 of these and they took me roughly 15 minutes.

  • Sizzix
  • Wildflower vines embossing plate
  • Alphabet Plate – Sizzix Bigz XL BLOCK TALK ALPHABET & NUMBERS by TIM HOLTZ ALTERATIONS
  • Silver Metallic Card stock
  • Decorative Paper
  • Reflections blank greeting cards either in White or Ivory (purchased from Michael’s) roughly a 5×7 size folded
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Markers

I cut squares to fit in the plate out of the silver metallic card stock.  You don’t have to be super precise here, you will trim them anyway.

IMG_7567You need 4 or more squares for each card

Adhear the 4 squares to the card to make it look like a tin celing

IMG_7569

Knowing that I was going to be putting “Mom” on the card I put a center piece in to help make sure that the letter laid nicely

IMG_7570

Using the Sizzix I made the word “Mom” from my Block talk plate and fancy purple paper I had

IMG_7571

After looking at the card I knew it needed a little something extra so I colored in some of the flowers.

IMG_7573

Add a nice note and picture on the inside and done!   I won’t show you the inside, my mom needs some kind of surprise for Mother’s day!!!

Hope everybody has a great rest of their week and a Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mommies out there!!!!
